Blinkentrees weekend 1

This weekend, the hackerspace was a hive of activity. Romain Schmitz and his merry helpers set about to hack up some Christmas cheer, in the way of some blinkentrees, little blinking Christmas trees that use the eminently hackable ATTiny.

These trees are certified 100% home-grown in the hackerspace, and guaranteed to last at least till next Christmas before shedding their needles.

Blinkentree, fresh from the acid bath.

Cut and painted blinkentrees.

Soldering the boards.

Can't see the forest for the trees.

These will be sold along-side the Keybites. And speaking of which…

When Georges wasn’t helping out sawing the trees, he was working as usual in the kitchen pouring more and more chocolate keyboards. The best part about him making all this is that we get to eat the rejects: white, dark, milk, peanuts, pistachios… it’s all so delicious. I imagine this is what it must be like working in a Ben & Jerry’s factory, or at Cadberry.
